Appliance EnergyCost Calculator

Privacy policy

This page describes what the website actually does with information.

What this website collects

Calculations run in your browser, and what you enter in the calculators is not sent to us. This website has no user accounts, and it does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. If you choose to email us, we receive what you send (see “Privacy questions and requests” below).

What is saved on your device

To keep your comparison between visits, the calculator saves the following in your browser's local storage, on this device only:

  • each appliance you add: its type or the name you typed, the calculation method and the figures you entered for it (such as power, hours and days of use, effective power, energy per cycle or per year, standby power and hours plugged in);
  • the electricity price you entered and the currency you chose.

This information is never sent to us or to anyone else. Local storage is not a cookie and is not sent with page requests. Other people using the same browser profile could see it. When you choose “Download CSV”, the file is created in your browser and saved to your device; it is not uploaded.

How to delete it

Choose Clear saved data on the calculator page or the energy dashboard, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. If your browser blocks local storage, nothing is saved and your list is lost when you leave the page.

Hosting

The website is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses and browser details to deliver pages and protect the service. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Privacy questions and requests

For questions or requests about privacy, email [email protected]. Calculator inputs and saved appliance data are not sent to us: they stay in your browser on your device, and you can remove them yourself with Clear saved data.

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message, so that we can read and reply to it.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated before any change to how the website handles information.
